Caldecote Church quilt exhibition

Another date for your diary is 12 July when Icknield quilters will be exhibiting some of their work at this lovely 15th century church in beautiful Herts countryside. 12-5pm alongside sales tables, refreshments provided by Friends of the Caldecote Church, a choir session and chance to see inside the church with our lovely quilts on display.

Wallington Church fete and exhibition

Next Sunday I shall be exhibiting some of my quilts and some of my students' as well in the lovely St Mary's Church in Wallington during the afternoon while the fete is going on in the adjoining field. Workshop with philippa

Went to one of Philippa Naylor's workshops last week on finishes for quilts. Lots of tips that actually work such as an easy method of making rouleau, how those measurement marks on your machine really work, what threads to use etc. if you get a chance to go to one of her excellent days, then grab it quickly. A really lovely day.

In madeira

final day of a holiday in madeira. Have had some nice sun so we are not looking forward to coming home to possible snow tomorrow. I have had a nice reply from the U.S. Quilts4Kids site where I sent a Hungry Caterpillar quilt to the Moody Branch. Good to know that a poorly child will have a quilt to hug.

Linus quilts etc

Have just come home from our Icknield quilters meeting where we donated about 30 quilts to the Linus Quilt project. The lady from Linus was thrilled.
Quite serendipitously I came across just now the Quilts for Kids site which is American and on their site there is a subgroup called Moody quilts for Kids. I have contacted them as my new name (Moody) might intrigue them and I am sure I can donate a couple of kids quilts to them

London quilters exhibition

Have just returned from London where I saw this exhibition on its penultimate day. Still open tomorrow at the Swiss cottage library in North London.

Nice room for display both inside the room and in the corridor outside and a particularly poignant display of World War I memories quilts. I have to get permission for publishing any of the photos that I took. Marlene Cohen 's quilts as usual  were particularly interesting.

Raffle

we have made £1250 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association after raffling our art nouveau quilt. We are thrilled that it made so much and it was particularly poignant that it went to the wife of a local man suffering with MND. Thank you to everyone who supported us.
